Bluenose Skipper
The Story of Bluenose and her Skipper

by G.J. Gillespie
This book is a solid history of the original Bluenose and one of the best “blow-by-blow” accounts of her racing record, including the 1938 (and final) International Fishermen’s Trophy series of races. It contains interviews with Captain Angus Walters, late of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, legendary skipper of Bluenose. Those last races were held off Gloucester, Massachusetts, and saw Bluenose emerge victorious. This gem was first published in 1955. It was last published in 1969, and was out of print until this 4th edition in 2010.
